Northern Ireland international and Chelsea defender Sam McClelland has been linked with a stunning move to newly promoted Serie A side, Venezia.
It is understood the move will be on a loan deal.
According to the website Tribal Football, Venezia have “registered their interest and are eager to wrap up a deal for McClelland quickly in the face of local Italian competition.”
The Italian outfit were promoted to the top flight via the play-offs in Serie B last season.
McClelland made the move to Chelsea in 2018 from the Coleraine youth set up and went on to sign his first professional deal with the Stamford Bridge club in 2019.

He made his international debut for Ian Barraclough’s Northern Ireland senior team as a substitute in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Ukraine in June.
Speaking on the “Teenage Kicks” series on Belfast Live last month, the defender spoke of his experience with the national squad and the step up in physicality in England.
“I would say everything is just a step up from the levels that I played at back home before joining Chelsea,” he said.
“The biggest difference is probably the physicality of players compared to back home.
“The whole break was a brilliant experience. The senior players were great with me, which made me feel comfortable in and around the squad straight away.
“Training with players of that level was a good learning experience for me and I was able to see for myself how the senior players go about their work.”
